In this section of the site we share some demonstrations of techniques we have used in our eLearning projects to increase the level of learner engagement or provide interactions used to improve the learning experience.
One big reason Profile Learning uses Articulate Storyline as its 'go to' product for eLearning module development is its ability to build and customize complex interactions and build exciting simulations. When Storyline can't quite cut it with its standard functionality (which is extensive) developers can always turn to JavaScript to build advanced routines that extend the capabilities of the core product. In order to show how this capability can be used we have developed a series of short demonstration modules each using the 'Execute JavaScript' trigger to achieve a particular interaction or effect
This demonstration highlights how simple JavaScript can add dynamic, real-time elements to Storyline projects. Here, we …
Articulate Storyline has a number of "survey" quiz questions including a Likert Scale button format: These …
We are often asked if it is possible to allow learners to make notes during an eLearning module and then to be able to download those notes, …
Articulate RISE has many features that make it attractive as a modern, rapid development tool for eLearning. Its responsive design means the layout works well on any screen size and the output is designed to meet the latest accessibility standards. RISE is very easy to use allowing even inexperienced developers to create great looking, interactive and engaging content remarkably quickly. But there are areas where it lacks the advanced design capabilities of products like Storyline. The great thing is that you can easily use, and incorporate Storyline 'blocks' within a RISE course. This means that, when you need to build more complex interactions with learners, you can employ the cutting-edge logic of Storyline to achieve your goals - even using JavaScript extensions like the examples above.
This very quick demonstration arose from a discussion on the Articulate Community Forum "E-Learning Heroes". The question was how to create a …
If you have looked at our Storyline demonstration of a downloadable Likert-style survey, you will know that we can easily create an impressive …
Having developed code that will download learner notes in Storyline, the next challenge was to do a similar thing in RISE. Obviously, this can be …
Gamification and 'fun' are key elements in building learner engagement within eLearning design. A simple device we often use to do this is to set …
